ADULT BIBLE CLASSES
We confess that the Bible is truth- It contains God-breathed words, from the very mind of the Creator (John 17:17). In this book, we find all the keys and tools to make people what they need to be (2 Tim. 3:16-17), as well as the blue-print for what Jesus' church should be like (1 Tim. 3:15). This is why you will repeatedly hear us appealing to the Bible in our sermons and in our classes, and for this we make no apology. In fact, we encourage you to engage with us in a study of the Bible; in it, you will find salvation and the truth that will set you free (John 8:32). SUNDAY AM II Peter Every Christian has to find a way to grow in Christ, and 2 Peter is a letter that helps cultivate a more mature faith. Peter provokes deep thought and encourages introspection with his sober reminders of Christ’s return. In becoming better acquainted with this book, you will gain a new perspective for daily living; make the most of every day for the Lord, for one day He will return! Teacher - Phil Arnold The Holy Spirit The Holy Spirit is probably one of the most often misunderstood subjects of the Scriptures. Who is He? What does He do today? What is His role in salvation? What is “Holy Spirit Baptism”? All these questions, and others, will be answered in this practical study. Teacher - Roger Hillis
Perhaps the most blatantly Messianic book in all the Old Testament is the prophecy of Isaiah. Under the influence of the Spirit, Isaiah writes specific events about the life and times of Christ hundreds of years before they transpire. Combined with a study of the history and world-view of the time of writing, this is a faith-building series of lessons that can open doors in your walk with Christ. Teacher - Bob Darnell
Even a model church has problems; in fact, Satan will work doubly hard to overthrow the good work of such a group. Paul has a great deal of good to say to the church at Thessalonica, but he also warns them of problems that are unique to their situation. A successful church faces the danger of complacency, and this study will help us overcome that hurdle together. Teacher– Phil Morris Gospel of Mark The shortest and simplest of the four gospels portrays a powerful Christ with a purposeful mission. The miracles and sayings of Jesus in Mark point people to service and salvation - still the keys of the gospel message today. This is a study of the life of Christ that is fast-paced and dynamic, and will inspire you to imitate Him. Teachers- Garrett Page & Steve Southard WEDNESDAY PM Judges/Ruth The tumultuous period following Joshua was a cycle of apostasy, calls to God for help, redemption, and obedience. The men and women God used to "judge" the people during this period are like character studies of modern people - there will always be one or two you can relate to. The book of Ruth is a bright light in an otherwise dim time for God's people, and shows the faithful remnant of people who never stray far from God. This book is a "reality check" for us today, to see how these cycles can affect God's people. Teacher– Jeremy Bard
Jesus not only belongs in every part of your life, but He ought to rule in every aspect of your existence - this is the message that Paul sends in the book of Colossians. Jesus is the center of the universe, and especially so for Christians - so what does that mean? This is the practical aspect of this study: How should my life be affected by my relationship to Christ? Are there things I need to change or things I need to do differently? Is there more I need to be doing (that I am not doing now)? These questions and concepts will be addressed in the course of study and application of the book of Colossians Teacher– Bob Woodward
Man has tried and repeatedly failed to find meaning in life apart from God. Ecclesiastes saves us the effort of this vain pursuit by revealing that life is to be enjoyed as a gift from God. Without God, a person can never be truly satisfied, but with God there is fulfillment. Join us for this insightful study that will shed light on "human nature" and lend wisdom to your daily living. Teacher– James Vaughn
God's chosen people had enjoyed a period of great prosperity and strength. The wisdom, wealth, and power of King Solomon was widely known and respected. However, following the death of Solomon, this mighty nation quickly fractured and floundered. In this study, we will see that God truly reigns in the affairs of men. Even when men turn away from Him, what God says, will happen. We will learn from the many moral and religious failures and be encouraged and motivated by the righteous stand some took during this tumultuous period. We will understand the importance of righteous leadership of God's people. We will learn about God's longsuffering nature as He calls people to turn back to Him. And yet, we will see that there is a point when God's judgment will come. Join us for this study of history to learn how to diligently seek Him in difficult times. Teacher– Jon Bingham
What is it that makes a man capable of rejoicing even in prison? Paul's answer is "Christ", and in this "letter of joy", he explains how Christians can have joy inspite of circumstances, treatment from others, or uncertainty about the future. Jesus is the key to all of this, and in this prison epistle, you will learn how to develop a relationship with Christ that will survive any storm of life. Teacher- Louie Taylor |
